I named it The GAS Strategy

A very senior leader called me personally a few months ago. He wanted to know how we were able to achieve some of the things we have accomplished at Heartbeat. I was so moved he was interested in what I had to say, and so proud to share our story, I swear I tried to cram as much as I could into a 90 minute video call!

I’ll give you the one-minute version of the story because it really is simple.

· Heartbeat has had high retention rates because of the GAS strategy.

· We’ve had high engagement scores because of the GAS strategy.

· We’re ahead in our industry in diversity stats because of the GAS strategy.

· We have high Glassdoor ratings because of the GAS strategy.

· We’ve won 3 straight Best Place To Work awards because of the GAS strategy.

· We’re 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Champion award recipients because of the GAS strategy.

What’s the GAS strategy, you ask?

Give. A. Shit.

To my fellow leaders and HR professionals: I want you to GAS every day, GAS with every decision you make, GAS with every word you speak, and GAS about every single person under your care.

I may have made up the GAS Strategy, but guess what, I just saved 89 minutes telling our story! Because it really is that simple.
